Refugee Support Services
What does it mean to have a safe space? Everything. A safe space is a place or environment in which a person or category of people can feel confident that they will not be exposed to discrimination, criticism, harassment, or any other emotional or physical harm. In the last two months alone, we've witnessed as a country the loss of safe spaces for some of the most vulnerable among us: refugee families who have escaped the ravages of war and persecution and overcome unimaginable odds to resettle in what many of them believe to be the greatest country on earth. Instead of being greeted with opened arms, we have in the worst cases turned our backs on them.
We provide emergency relief, housing assistance, employment aide and mentoring as well as hosting community gatherings to educate locals about the diversity of history, experience and culture of South Florida's Refugee population. Through our community gatherings we are currently hosting Syrian Supper Clubs. You can find out more about these events by clicking here.
